The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
has certified the Oncology Interactive™ Education
Series. According to an agreement signed in 1948,
UNESCO has developed a worldwide system of certification
for audio and visual materials deemed to be of
an "international educational, scientific and
cultural character."
Founded in 1945, UNESCO strives to "contribute
to peace and security in the world by promoting
collaboration among nations through education,
science, culture and communication[.]" As part
of its mandate, the organization supports educational,
scientific and cultural initiatives for "tomorrow's
world." With its innovative audio-visual content
and commitment to clear and comprehensive cancer
education, the OIES™ stands as both a
reflection of these UNESCO values and a model
for future interactive multimedia.
The United Nations' certification facilitates
the circulation of the OIES™ among participating
Member States.

2002 Summit Creative Award®
Selected from over
3000 international entries, jack digital productions
inc. was awarded a 2002 Summit Creative Award®,
in Portland, Oregon, for its innovative design
of the Oncology Interactive™ Education Series
title, Understanding
Lung Cancer. The Understanding
Lung Cancer title was chosen to represent
the series.
The only competition of its kind, the Summit Creative
Award® was launched in 1994 to celebrate the accomplishments
of smaller creative agencies throughout the world.
Judges of the award are creative-industry professionals
and recognize intelligent, innovative
and creative concepts, strategies and executions.

2001
Golden MIM Awards
The Oncology Interactive™ Education Series was
chosen as a finalist in the 2001 Golden MIM Awards
competition. Designed to recognize and
honor the year's best CD-ROMs, Web sites and multimedia
software, the MIM awards are a key part
of the Multimedia International Market, a strategic
marketplace for IT professionals and new economy
policy-makers, held in Montreal, Canada.
Award competitors were judged on the educational
value, originality, interactivity, and content
and design quality of their products.
In addition, according to president Hervé Fischer,
(2001's) MIM chose "to emphasize the human
side of technology," and focus on products that
put human beings "back into the heart of cyberspace."
More than 300 participants have competed for a
Golden MIM Award in this prestigious competition.

2001 Global Awards
The Oncology Interactive™ Education Series was
selected as a finalist in the 2001 Global
Awards competition in the Communication to
the Consumer: Film, Video, Audio category. Honoring
outstanding achievement in healthcare communications,
the 2001 Global Awards attracted 1,361 entries
from all over the world. Preliminary judging took
place in Australia, Canada, England, Germany,
Spain, and four cities in the United States. The
final awards were determined at a judging session
held in London, England.
The 2001 winners were published in The New York Festivals Annual of Advertising 10, a best-selling full-color book showcasing the world's best work in design. They were also featured in a comprehensive editorial in Medical Marketing & Media magazine's January 2002 issue, which is distributed worldwide.
